Great Night of Fado
Fado (the most popular Portuguese musical style) before being music was an emotion often described in Luís de Camões poetry. Like any living art, it has had various influences — Arabian, Irish, Scandinavian, Brazilian, African — and has in its origin connections with other musical styles. For this reason, it should not be surprising that this GREAT NIGHT OF FADO catches a glimpse of a milonga, a samba or even a waltz.
Joana Reais is the voice of this tribute to her hometown, Lisbon, and its intersections around the world, accompanied by the Brazilian musicians Beto Chedid on the portuguese guitar, Diego Costa on the acoustic guitar and César Ferreira on the accordion and piano.
GREAT NIGHT OF FADO is an intimate and enchanting music show that wanders between classical fados and contemporary fados, with Joana taking the public to travel not only to Portugal but also to within each one.
